De-Escalation Techniques Seminar
In today’s increasingly litigious society, armed citizens face growing scrutiny when forced to defend themselves. Prosecutors often highlight an individual’s firearms training, attempting to portray it as evidence of aggression or a “militant mindset.” Instead of recognizing responsible training as a mark of safety and preparedness, they may twist it into an accusation of vigilante behavior.
At Cajun Arms, we believe that true self-defense includes more than marksmanship—it includes the ability to avoid conflict whenever possible. Our De-Escalation Techniques Seminar teaches you how to recognize, manage, and defuse potentially violent encounters before they escalate. By developing sound verbal and behavioral de-escalation skills, you not only increase your personal safety but also strengthen your legal defense by demonstrating a complete, responsible approach to self-protection.
Students who complete this seminar receive a certificate of training that, when combined with live-fire instruction, helps show a balanced commitment to safety, responsibility, and restraint.
Duration: 2.5–3 hours

We have updated, expanded and combined the topics of discussion from Real World Self Defense 1.5 and 2.0. We provide the student with techniques to develop a combat mindset and show you how to prepare for and survive a violent encounter.
All of the training in the world is of little use if you cannot survive the emotional, physiological, and legal aftermath. Carrying a gun for self defense is a sound plan to protect yourself and your loved ones from a violent encounter but in today’s society you may not always have your gun with you. You may also be in a situation where you cannot use it or get to it. It is vital to know and understand how to defend yourself in such a situation as part of your self-defense plan.
A gun can be the “great equalizer” in a fight. The concepts you learn will tip the odds in your favor during a violent confrontation to either get away or deploy your own sidearm.
