What do I need to purchase a firearm?
A clean background history, PA driver's License, and payment. You must be 18 to purchase a long gun and 21 to purchase a handgun.
Can I just stop in?
No, we work by appointment. Please call or email to set up a day/time.
Can I buy a gun if I live out of state?
Not a handgun. However we can ship a handgun to a dealer near your home for transfer. Long guns can be purchased from us in many cases to out of state buyers. It depends on your state of residence.
I'm not sure if I can pass the background check. Can I try?
Please don't come in and "try". Please talk to a lawyer or run a background check on yourself at the PSP website. If you are denied because of your background check, you will be charged with falsifying information on the forms and it will cost you a lot of money.
I live in another part of the country (not PA). Do you ship guns?
Yes, we do. We can arrange payment plus shipping costs. Once payment clears, we will ship out and send you a tracking number. All guns must be shipped to a licensed FFL dealer.
Do you do internet transfers?
Yes, but please read this page for more information and contact us if you have any questions.

Do you purchase guns and/or accept trades?
Yes, we do - depending on the model and condition.
Can I take a class if I have a record?
If you cannot pass an ATF form 4473, you cannot take one of our classes.
Can I take a class or book a private lesson if I am a non-U.S. citizen visiting the United States?
Yes! Cajun Arms welcomes international guests who want to experience professional firearms training while visiting the U.S. In compliance with the Federal Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA) — specifically 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(5)(B) — non-U.S. citizens from countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) may:
- Take a firearms training class
- Book a private shooting lesson
- Rent firearms and purchase ammunition for use during supervised training
To participate, you must be a citizen of a Visa Waiver Program country, which currently includes:
Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom
Note: British citizens must have the unrestricted right of permanent abode in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man to be eligible under the VWP.
You must also meet all VWP travel requirements, including valid ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) approval before entering the U.S.
Acceptable Documents:
To verify eligibility, you must provide one of the following:
- A valid passport from a VWP country
- An approved ESTA
- An I-94 form confirming lawful entry into the U.S. under the VWP
If you are not from a Visa Waiver Program country, you cannot legally participate in firearms training, rent firearms, or purchase ammunition with Cajun Arms.
All non-U.S. visitors must comply with federal, state, and local firearms laws while participating in shooting classes, gun safety training, or private lessons.
