oin NRA Advanced Instructor Jim Benoit for a comprehensive introductory class on defensive shooting. This course is designed for men and women with little to no shooting experience who want to build safe, reliable handgun skills. Some prior range time is helpful but not required — all you need is a willingness to learn.
We’ll start with the fundamentals to ensure every student is on track. You’ll refine your grip, stance, and sight picture, then apply them on the range through live-fire drills. Students will:
-
Practice safe muzzle discipline and trigger control
-
Learn proper trigger reset for accuracy
-
Shoot multiple targets with increasing confidence
-
Discuss core defensive topics including Use of Force, Grip, Stance, Draw, and Shot Placement
This class is conducted in a small, supportive environment with plenty of personal attention. You’ll leave with stronger skills, greater confidence, and the foundation to continue your defensive training journey.
👉 Reminder: If you can already safely handle your firearm and shoot accurately, you may be ready for Defensive Carry 1.0, where students work from the holster and train with more advanced defensive drills.
50–100 rounds required
