I’ve taken several classes at Cajun Arms, including pistol and carbine. Jim is extremely knowledgeable and has a real knack for explaining things clearly and quickly so the information actually sticks. The drills are well thought-out, demonstrated properly, and structured so you can easily keep practicing them on your own after class.Jim keeps the atmosphere light with a steady stream of jokes, which makes long training days fly by without ever compromising the seriousness of the material. Safety is rock-solid; I’ve always felt completely safe during live fire, and if anyone drifts even slightly from safe handling, Jim spots it instantly and corrects it firmly and immediately (exactly what you want from an instructor).Practical, effective training delivered by someone who knows his stuff and makes the classes enjoyable. Cajun Arms is highly recommended.

I recently took a training class at Cajun Arms Co. in West Chester, PA, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Whether you are a first-time gun owner or someone looking to sharpen advanced defensive skills, this is the place to go. The instructor, Jim, brings a wealth of real-world experience—from military and law enforcement backgrounds—that truly sets the training apart. He doesn't just teach you how to shoot; he teaches you proper mindset, safety, and decision-making under stress. This focus on "why" and "when" to use a firearm is as valuable as the shooting practice itself. Safety is clearly the top priority, which was reassuring for everyone in the class. The atmosphere is supportive and encouraging, not intimidating. They do an excellent job of providing personalized feedback and ensuring every student masters the fundamentals before moving on to more complex drills. I signed up for the Intro to Defensive Pistol class, and it was 100% worth it. Jim is a superb instructor, and professionally focused us, the class, on establishing strong fundamental basics, all the while ensuring we practiced and kept to proper firearm safety throughout. I left the class with new techniques learned, more confidence in myself, and a desire to continue to learn and train, which I plan to do by signing up for the next level of class. I would highly recommend Jim and his classes!

I want to thank Cajun Arms for helping me find a M1 Garand .30-06 in such a great condition. I was really wanting a M1 Garand as my father carried one in the US Marines during the Korean War.
