22LR. The Winchester Model 55 (semi-auto) is a single-shot sporting rifle produced from 1958 to 1961. It was Winchester's first attempt at a self-ejecting single-shot rifle. It was marketed as a target rifle for young boys. After less than four years of production, the Model 55 never caught on and it was discontinued in 1961 with only around 47,000 produced. Features include a smooth one-piece walnut stock, top receiver loading chute, 21.75" barrel, adjustable elevator rear sight, dovetail font blade sight with brass bead, charging handle and receiver tang safety. This gun is showing some wear but appears to be all original with a perfect sharp/ clean bore and is in excellent working order.

Yes its true, this gun fires from a open bolt, but just a single shot. Very unique and rare single top loading model
